My 5 Step Guide to a Fabulous Year!!

^^ Click that for a lovely song to listen to while you read this ^^

Rule Number One: You gotta have fun!
Yes, I pulled out the Marina, you gotta love me.
But on a totally serious note, If you HAVE to go to school, you might as well enjoy it instead of dwelling in the bad I mean hey, it’s free learning… and that’s pretty awesome.

Rule #2 :
(here’s a fashion tip)
Wear whatever makes you feel like the fabulous person that you are!
If you like to wear lots of black, or pink, or sparkles… do it! If you’re comfortable and you like what you’re wearing, don’t change how you look or conform to anyone else’s style.
Be you. Wear what you want to wear, It’s your style, nobody can steal that, or change that. It’s yours… all yours! Do not pay attention to the popular girls. You don’t need to look to them for what to wear and what not to wear. If you want to wear an old dress and vintage thrift store found oxfords, then do it! It’s your life… they may be popular, but popularity will go away… Style does not. So, don’t let them or their opinions ruin your day!

Rule Number 3:
(a style/fashion tip)
Remember, while you’re getting your haircut for school, or trying a new hairstyle always go for something you want, if you’re getting it cut just because your mom/dad/crazy aunt mae tells you to, you’re going to end up hating it until it grows back out.
Also, when you get your hair cut, it should make you feel like a sassy and cool chic and if you don’t then your hairdresser isn’t doing it right.

Rule #4 –
(a beauty tip)
If you’re in Middle/High School and are just starting to use makeup :
Stick to the basics! Do NOT use too much foundation, your skin is beautiful… You don’t need to mask it. Although, if you feel like you need to, make sure you’re doing it correctly… It never hurts to check out a few makeup tutorials on youtube. There are tons and you’ll probably find exactly what you need!
Personally, I like a little bit of chapstick, eyeliner, and some mascara and I’m good to go!

Rule 5:
You’re in school for a reason, it’s to learn… Although you’re going to get wrapped up in friends, drama, boys, and fun girls nights remember schoolwork has to come first. I know you’d rather not do your homework, but it’s something that simply must be done…  So, instead of chasing boys and getting in drama, pick up a book and read it!
(You’ll thank me in the long run.)

So I hope I’ve eased your Back to School jitters a little bit…
(Sorry this is a little late, but all of the same concepts still apply)
Have a lovely, lovely school year… Read lots, make new friends, cherish the old ones and don’t forget to smile.

Florals x Sneakers

Florals x Sneakers.

I personally have an extreme love for florals like nobody's business. Although, sometimes I do tend to face a little problem with them though. The problem is that sometimes when you add heels or flats, it tends to be a little bit too feminine. Now, that's not actually a problem for every one... just for me, on some days. Haha, but seriously. One of the great ways to fix that issue is to add sneakers!

So with this collared button down floral dress, I added a pair of canvas sneakers I got from my great aunt at her yard sale. On the side, they actually have a small picture of Winnie the Pooh on them... adorable, right?

I wore this particular outfit to a day of shopping and lunch with friends. The outfit doesn't stop there though, it's so casual and cute you could practically wear it doing whatever. I wore this with a pair of black tights and a black jumper when I went up to new york city on a school trip... the options are endless! But most importantly, you've got to have fun and be comfortable in whatever you're wearing.

Musical Saturday : Nat & Alex

Today, I’m going to do something a bit fun. I’m going to tell you all about two of my favorite celebrities.

Nat & Alex Wolff.

These two cute brothers have been in my life since 2007 (they were the first boys I ever fangirled over). They’re most well known for their roles in the Nickelodeon show “The Naked Brothers Band” and in the show, they made music and played shows. The show was cancelled in 2009, and I know I was not the only heartbroken fifth grader! So, one boring night two years later, I was on the computer and somehow stumbled upon Black Sheep… (check it out here)

After I found out about that, I was absolutely and positively hooked, I admit some of the songs were a bit deep for my thirteen year old self to fully comprehend but I loved them nonetheless. When I heard about their Black Sheep tour I wanted to go to bad, I remember sobbing because my mother wouldn’t let me go all the way to Vienna to see them, I was crushed. Though, I admit it was probably for the best, I most likely would have screamed too loud or passed out or embarrassed myself somehow.
Back to the topic though, Black Sheep is a really super fantastically great album. If you asked me to explain it, I couldn’t… The best I can do is say that there’s lovely ballads, a bit of angsty teen rock, and some indie mixed in there.  Currently, they’ve got three demo songs out: “Call You”, “Over My Mind”, and my personal favorite “Fire and Kerosene”...

Music isn’t all that the boys have been up to though. They have appeared in numerous films and plays.

Nat has been in the films “Admissions”, “Stuck In Love”, “New Year’s Eve”, and many more. Nat is currently working on the film adaptation of John Green’s book The Fault In Our Stars (which by the way is an amazing book if you haven’t read it yet, I suggest you read it.) He’s not only working on that but also a movie called “Behaving Badly” with Selena Gomez
Don’t think that Alex hasn’t been up to anything though. The curly haired cutie has been writing and performing his own plays at the Flea Theatre in New York City.  He was also in the film “The Sitter” with actor Jonah Hill.
So, with all of that said, these two talented boys have a lot going for them, and I think they’ll make it pretty far.
(I have to admit that this was a bit biased though, as I am a wolffie...)
Check them out!!
Until next time!

All White Everything...Not.

What’s a great outfit for a warm, sunny, summery August day?
White! White is an extremely fabulous go-to outfit choice.
The color white is lovely during the summer because it’s light, usually breathable, and it’s very fresh and clean looking.
Yoshmeek paired the a white floral crotched top with a matching mini skirt. Although she broke the all-white trend, she did it well.
By pairing the outfit with a pair of tan suede wedge boots, it completes her entire look and adds a bit of personality. The tan helps bring a pop of color to the outfit while still keeping it chic and stylish.
The outfit is pretty fabulous for a nice summer lunch date, or out to the mall with some friends, or perhaps even a school look. It all depends on how you make it your own.
Top: Cato’s
Skirt: Burlington Coat Factory
Shoes: Burlington Coat Factory
Earrings: Rhinestone Studs (purchase anywhere that sells jewelry)

Until next time!

Sparkles and Sarcasm.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you mixed two completely different styles together? of course you have!
Well, this blog will serve as a fashion diary for two teenage best friends.

I'm Aj. I'm the extremely obsessed with fashion and the actual history of fashion and how it works and the industry and everything of the sorts one. So, with that being said my style is either pretty classic and stylish or completely questionable and spontaneous... It all really just depends on the weather and my mood. Personality wise, I'm the more bubbly glittery loving one.

Yoshmeek is the trendy one. She keeps up with all the latest fashions and mixes and matches them so that they compliment her. You'll never see her wearing an old pair of overalls with high top converses or a jumper with kittens all over it. Yoshmeek is a very trendy girl, which you will soon see more and more once school starts next week! Yoshmeek is the honest, funny, sarcastic one who is never afraid to tell you what she's thinking.

That's all for now!
